Mental Performance Skills Training
It’s time to rev up your game.
Technical and tactical skills will only get you so far in competitive sport. The whole athlete must be trained, including the connection between the brain and body. We are not born knowing how to manage pressure, refine focus, practice imagery, control our thoughts with our breath, deal with anxiety, or reproduce a peak performance state. The mental skills that support the technical and tactical also need to be trained, practiced, and honed.

Each athlete’s unique circumstances are factored into their individualized training plan. The objective is for each goalkeeper to understand the connection between their thoughts, their emotions, and the way their body functions, and then to purposefully manage of all of it for replicable peak performance. These sessions will include:
evaluation of current mental skills
delivery of new tools
guided skill application
support for new tool development
refinement of tools already in practice

One & Done
A single 1-hour session. Modified evaluation assesses a single issue and provides guidance on applicable skills. One new tool introduced and practiced.

Fiver
Five sessions of 45-minutes each. (First session is 1-hour - includes assessment of goalkeeper’s mental performance skills, evaluation of major performance challenges, discusses skills being used, and introduces one new tool. Following three sessions evaluate how new tool is going, discuss improvements or new challenges, introduce and practice new skills. Fifth session evaluates growth and what comes next, how to apply tools to new challenges, practice.
One session every 2-weeks.

Elite 8
Eight sessions of 45-minutes each.
Same as the ‘Fiver’, but more robust due to extended time. More skills delivered, more time to refine and master.
